Let’s Be Honest…
I don’t enjoy working out the way I used to.
There was a time when I looked forward to the gym—the challenge, the energy, even the atmosphere. But now? Not so much.
And if you’re over 50, you probably know exactly what I mean.
But here’s the truth I’ve learned:
👉 You don’t have to love cardio—you just have to do it.
Why Cardio Still Matters After 50
Cardio isn’t about chasing a six-pack anymore. It’s about:
Keeping your heart strong
Staying independent
Having energy for daily life
Being present for your family
Living longer with purpose
That’s a different kind of motivation—and honestly, a better one.
The Best Cardio (Simple & Effective)
You don’t need anything complicated. These work:
✔ Brisk Walking – The most underrated workout there is
✔ Stationary Cycling – Easy on your joints
✔ Swimming – Full-body, zero impact
✔ Elliptical – Smooth and controlled
✔ Light Interval Training – Just enough to challenge you
A Simple Weekly Plan
You can follow something like this:
Mon: Brisk Walk (30 min)
Tue: Cycling (25 min)
Wed: Light Walk or Rest
Thu: Elliptical (25 min)
Fri: Brisk Walk (30–40 min)
Sat: Recovery (light movement or swimming)
Sun: Light Walk + Stretching
How Hard Should You Go?
Use this simple rule:
👉 The Talk Test
If you can talk but not sing—you’re right where you need to be.
The Biggest Mistake Most Men Make
They try to do too much… too fast.
After 50, the goal isn’t intensity—it’s consistency.
👉 Show up.
👉 Move your body.
👉 Repeat tomorrow.
Faith & Fitness
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit…?” — 1 Corinthians 6:19
Taking care of your body isn’t just physical—it’s spiritual.
Every walk… every workout… every step forward…
is an act of stewardship.
Final Thought
You may not enjoy working out anymore.
But you will enjoy:
Feeling stronger
Having more energy
Staying independent
So don’t wait for motivation.
👉 Just start moving.
